Mule Magazine was a collage of art, music and cultural happenings—an adventure in the creation-process from start to finish. Over the course of Mule's six issues I was able to work alongside the best team of creatives I could imagine as editor/publisher, curator, writer, art director and collaborating designer. Over the years, I interviewed about four dozen folks including the likes of Rosanne Cash, Tom Verlaine and Steve James. In 2006 we won an AIGA Ten Show Gold Award, judged by Art Gentry, were written up in Giant Robot and Arthur Magazine. In 2009 we traveled to Luxembourg for the We Love Magazines convention and met some of the best independent publishers the world over. In the last of Mule's regular stint, we hosted a monthly DJ night at Chicago's Whistler. It was a good run.
